2025년 제19회 바르샤바 쇼팽 국제 피아노 콩쿠르 본선에 진출하며 국제 음악계의 주목을 받은 피아니스트 이관욱은 시적인 감성과 섬세한 음악성을 겸비한 차세대 피아니스트이다. 영국의 클래식 음악 전문지 Gramophone은 그의 연주에 대해 “자연스럽고 유려한 흐름과 시적인 깊이를 보여준다”고 평하며 뛰어난 해석력을 높이 평가했다.
그는 국내 TBC 음악콩쿠르 입상을 시작으로 독일 MozArte International Piano Competition Aachen, 스페인 Marbella International Piano Competition 등 국제 콩쿠르에서 입상하며 활동의 폭을 넓혀왔다. 또한 프랑스 Menton Music Festival과 스페인 Marbella Music Festival 등 유럽 주요 페스티벌에서 연주했으며, 프랑스 Yamaha Artist Services Paris 초청 리사이틀과 일본 Yamaha Rising Pianist Concert 시리즈에 초청되어 유럽과 아시아 무대에서 활발히 활동하고 있다.
이관욱은 독일 데트몰트 Schlosspark에서 Symphonisches Orchester des Landestheaters Detmold와 협연했으며, Detmold Landestheater, Detmold Konzerthaus, 서울 국제아트홀, 고양 아람누리, 헤르만아트홀 등 다양한 무대에서 연주하며 음악 세계를 확장해가고 있다. 예원학교와 서울예술고등학교를 거쳐 연세대학교를 졸업했으며, 독일 데트몰트 국립음악대학에서 Alfredo Perl을 사사하며 석사 과정과 최고연주자과정(Konzertexamen)을 졸업하였다.
Pianist Kwanwook Lee
Pianist Kwanwook Lee has attracted international attention after advancing to the final stage of the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2025. Recognized for his poetic sensitivity and refined musicianship, Lee represents a new generation of pianists distinguished by both expressive depth and technical finesse. The British classical music magazine Gramophone praised his playing for its “natural, fluid flow and poetic depth,” highlighting the clarity and insight of his interpretations.
Lee first gained recognition with prizes at Korea’s TBC Music Competition, and has since expanded his international presence through awards at competitions including the MozArte International Piano Competition Aachen in Germany and the Marbella International Piano Competition in Spain. He has performed at major European festivals such as the Menton Music Festival in France and the Marbella Music Festival in Spain, and has also been invited to present recitals by Yamaha Artist Services Paris and the Yamaha Rising Pianist Concert series in Japan.
As a soloist, Lee has performed with the Symphonisches Orchester des Landestheaters Detmold at Schlosspark Detmold, and has appeared at venues including the Detmold Landestheater, Detmold Konzerthaus, Seoul International Art Hall, Aram Nuri Arts Center (Goyang) and Hermann Art Hall. He studied at Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and Yonsei University, and completed both his master’s degree and the Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold under Alfredo Perl.
