최지은은 제62회 비냐스 국제 성악 콩쿠르에서 1위를 차지했으며, 한국 여성 성악가 최초로 2024년 베르디 국제 성악 콩쿠르에서 우승했다. 또한 2023년 KBS·KEPCO 음악 콩쿠르 1위, 대한민국오페라단 콩쿠르 2위, 리카르도 잔도나이 국제 콩쿠르 2위, 2023년 바이로이트 장학금, 2022년 조반니 오모데오 재단 후원 등 다양한 국제적 성과를 거두었다.
독일 코트부스 주립극장에서 앙상블 단원으로 활동하며 <라 보엠>의 미미, <알치나>의 알치나, <장미의 기사>의 마리안느 등을 선보였고, 프랑크푸르트 오더에서는 <마탄의 사수> 아가테 역, 국립오페라단에서는 <피가로의 결혼> 백작부인 역으로 무대에 올랐다. 또한 코트부스에서 <세 개의 오렌지에 대한 사랑> 스메랄디나, <마담 버터플라이> 초초상 역으로 롤 데뷔를 성공적으로 마쳤다.
괴테 극장에서는 바그너의 ‘니벨룽의 반지’ 시리즈 중 <발퀴레> 지클린데와 <신들의 황혼> 구트루네 역으로 출연하며 바그너 레퍼토리로 영역을 확장했다. 이어 도이체 오퍼 베를린에서 <아이다> 타이틀 롤로 성공적인 데뷔를 마쳤으며, 2025/26 시즌에는 파리 국립 오페라와 산티아고 시립극장 데뷔와 함께 <토스카>와 <안드레아 셰니에> 출연이 예정되어 있다.

South Korean soprano Gloria Jieun Choi is rapidly gaining recognition on the international opera stage for her radiant timbre, refined technique, and compelling stage presence. Combining lyrical warmth with dramatic intensity, her voice embodies both expressive depth and artistic versatility.
Choi is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions. She received First Prize at the 62nd Concurs Internacional de Cant Tenor Viñas and became the first Korean female singer to win First Prize at the 2024 Concorso Internazionale Voci Verdiane. She also won First Prize at the 2023 KBS–KEPCO Music Competition, Second Prize at the Korea National Opera Competition, and Second Prize at the Concorso Internazionale Riccardo Zandonai. Additionally, she was awarded the 2023 Bayreuth Scholarship and received support from the Giovanni Omodeo Foundation.
Choi was a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Cottbus, where she made her debut as Mimì in La Bohème. Her repertoire includes Alcina (Alcina), Marianne (Der Rosenkavalier), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Agathe (Der Freischütz), Smeraldina (The Love for Three Oranges), and Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly). She also appeared as Sieglinde (Die Walküre) and Gutrune (Götterdämmerung) at the Goethe-Theater Bad Lauchstädt, expanding her repertoire to include Wagner, and made her debut in the title role of Aida at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
In the 2025/26 season, Choi will make her debut at the Opéra National de Paris and the Teatro Municipal de Santiago, performing in Puccini’s Tosca and Giordano’s Andrea Chénier. She has also performed in concert at the Konzerthaus Berlin, presenting arias from Pagliacci, Madama Butterfly, L’amico Fritz, and La Bohème.
Choi earned her Bachelor of Music from Suwon University and her Master’s degree from the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, where she is currently pursuing the Konzertexamen (Artist Diploma). She is represented by IMG Artists for general management and is supported by the SeAH Woon Hyung Lee Foundation for Cultural Promotion, continuing to expand her career on the international stage.
